HI and a WARM WELCOME:
Thank you from my heart for taking the time to sign up for and read this newsletter. I am grateful to you for wanting to share your precious time and energy by joining me in thought as you read the words and feel the emotions that accompany this letter. My hope is that as you read, you will come to see, feel and identify with the magnificent soul that you are. Here we go…
THOUGHTS AND BLESSINGS FOR THE HOLIDAYS AND ALWAYS:
It is difficult to believe that Thanksgiving is almost here. Just a few more weeks and we will be gathering with our families, friends and loved ones to celebrate our blessings.
Have you noticed how good you feel when you find yourself thinking about how lucky and blessed you are? The energetic vibrations of gratitude and appreciation are simply good medicine.
Granted, not everything may be what your heart desires at this moment, but, if you focus on what you have in your life, starting always with those you love, including your pets, you realize that you have blessings. Are you relatively healthy? Can you walk, talk and eat on your own? Do you have a roof over your head and sleep in a comfortable bed? Do you have family and/or a friend or two that loves and cares about you? Your perspective, that is, how you choose to see where you are and who you are, determines so much – and, above all, your quality of life.
You are a beautiful being of light energy that has come to this lifetime to be love, give love and receive love. You have the ability to make a difference just by choosing to care, be compassionate, be kind and be present for another being, human or animal. You make a difference. Your life matters to the rest of us.
If you feel you are lacking someone special in your life, then do not hesitate to reach out to others because there are many who are just waiting for you to become a part of their lives. If you feel you can help an animal – and would like a loving companion, consider a rescuing a pet from a shelter.
Consider feeding the homeless this Thanksgiving and over the December holidays, as well, or contacting agencies in your area that serve those in need and asking how you might be able to assist someone during the holidays – or anytime! Contact the Red Cross, your church, synagogue or other places of worship to see if you can have help a needy family. Gather food and necessities or bake cookies to send to our troops, or, better yet, form a group in your neighborhood to do this with you. Community is a blessing for you and the other member of your community
You can continue to make a difference throughout the holidays. Consider using this time to give to others in other parts of the world. For example, the Heifer Organization enables you to give to both families and villages gifts of animals (goats, chicks, buffalo, llamas and bees) which will feed, sustain and support them. By volunteering in your local hospital during Christmas, you give others opportunities to be with their families during their holiday time.
Choosing to do something which enables you to feel you are giving back, provides blessings for both you and those to whom you are giving. There really are few words that adequately convey how enriched you feel when you choose to give to another.
On a personal note, I begin and end my day with a prayer of gratitude. I give thanks for my blessings before my feet are on the floor and my day gets started. By expressing the love and appreciation for what I have in my life ( for everything!) and asking to be continued to be blessed so that I may be able to be here for others, I set the tone for the day, enabling it to usually flow smoothly and peacefully (usually). I frequently give thanks as I go through my day. It makes me feel good and is actually uplifting.
Remember that the energetic vibrations of gratitude and appreciation, along with love, are high and contribute to your increased well- being.
Above all, please remind yourself that
you matter and that you can make a difference in the life of another. And, when you do, you know you are truly blessed.
May you receive
whatever you need to know that you are in alignment with your soul’s
desires.
THOUGHTS FROM THE BUDDHA:
|
Let
us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn’t learn a lot
today,
At least, we learned a little, and, if we didn’t learn a
little,
At least, we didn’t get sick, and, if we got sick,
At least we didn’t die;
So, let us all be thankful.

FINAL THOUGHTS AND
SUGGESTIONS:
Take five to
fifteen minutes each day to go within (sometimes called
meditation) so that as you relax and experience a greater sense
of peace, you allow yourself to connect with your Higher Self,
that wise part of you that knows how extraordinary and powerful you
are. Make it a ritual. Put on your favorite music, light a candle
and pick a comfortable, quiet place to do this. Keep a pen and pad
nearby while going within, recording any significant thoughts that
come to mind during your quiet, meditative time. Then return to
going within.
Choose to
unconditionally Love yourself first and then others.
Say
the affirmations: I am
grateful for who I am, for all parts of me, and I love every part of
my being. Little by little I am owning, acknowledging and feeling
all my feelings, even those I do not wish to face. By doing this I
am releasing resistance, assisting my body’s immune system and
creating peace and well-being for myself.
Purchase
an inexpensive
or fancy notebook and journal your thoughts, insights and
feelings about your experiences. Just take five to ten minutes a
day to document your new awareness and consciousness and how it has
impacted you. Notice how you feel during and after the writing of
your thoughts and feelings.
Take care of
yourself! Schedule down time for yourself.
Take a 20 minute nap before the kids get home or just before you get
going with making dinner. Build in a yoga, pilates, meditation or
exercise class a few times a week. Make this your “chill out” time,
just for you.
How you talk to
yourself matters.
Choose soft language, such as I would or might like to
…. Instead of I have to. Go with Perhaps I may….instead
of I must or I have to..
Import your
favorite cookies and food.
It does not need to be all homemade. It really is about the
intention and the love that goes with the food. Love is such a
powerful healing force. Just hold the food in your hands and pray
that it be infused with the loving energy you feel in your heart.
Some wonderful research (Bernie Grad’s work at McGill University in
Canada) substantiates the healing power of loving intention. But,
those of you who love to cook and bake already know this.
Choose to focus on
thoughts of gratitude and appreciation for each of your blessings.
Take time to notice how you are
feeling. If it is not good, you are most likely focused on a non-blessing.
The choice to feel good is
yours.
Since these next
two months are so often filled with “ busy stuff,” try to remember
the essential message of the holidays, which is Love -
Unconditional Love of yourself, first, and then Unconditional Love
of the others in your life!!
Honor your
Soul’s wisdom.
Do only what feels right for you. Decide your priorities.
Your time is precious. Spend it with those you truly love. Say no
to that which does not feed your soul, including huge parties
with people who are not as important to you as your loved ones
and/or dearest friends. Make every moment count!
May your holidays be filled with Warmth, Blessings and Love,

p.s.
If you have found these
stories helpful or inspirational and feel they may help someone else, please
send this letter onto them.
"If
the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is thank you, it will be
enough."
